Lecturer Accused of Soliciting Sex From Married Student Arrested After Alleged Sting Operation by Her Husband

A lecturer, identified as the Head of the Department of History and International Studies at Northwest University (formerly Yusuf Maitama Sule University) and a visiting lecturer at Mariam Abacha American Nigerian University (
MAAUN), has been handed over to the police following allegations that he demanded sex from a married female student in exchange for approving her project.

According to reports, the lecturer allegedly delayed approving the student's project for two years after she repeatedly rejected his alleged advances. The student reportedly informed her husband, who then organized a sting operation.

Sources claim that after reviewing chat exchanges between the lecturer and the student, the husband arranged for the lecturer to meet the woman shortly after Maghrib prayers under the pretense of a rendezvous. When the lecturer allegedly arrived at the agreed location, he was confronted by the woman's husband and others, who reportedly assaulted him before handing him over to the police.

Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the allegations or announced any charges, and the claims remain subject to police investigation.
