A member of the Board of the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), Hon. Prince Abimbola Ariyo Oyebowale, popularly known as "MANDATE," has distributed food items to more than 200 residents of the Isale-Ola community in Ipetumodu Ward 1 as part of a grassroots welfare initiative.
The distribution, which took place across the six compounds that make up the Isale-Ola community, saw beneficiaries receive Congos of rice aimed at providing relief amid prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking during the exercise, Oyebowale said the initiative was designed to ensure that the benefits of governance reach people at the grassroots. He noted that the programme reflects his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community while complementing the welfare efforts of the Osun State Government.
Beneficiaries of the distribution included widows, widowers, elderly residents, traders, small business owners and youths. Community members described the intervention as timely, saying it would help ease household expenses.
Addressing residents, the OIRS board member also encouraged eligible voters to participate in the state's forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for August 15. He urged the electorate to support the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing continuity as important for sustaining ongoing developmental programmes in the state.
The event attracted community leaders, youths and other residents, many of whom expressed appreciation for the food support. Some beneficiaries commended Oyebowale for maintaining a visible presence in the community and for what they described as his consistent engagement with constituents.
