According to an interview aired on Arise News on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Paschal Amadi, a suspect in the death of Emmanuel Nwaneniya, has claimed that the existence of money on the deceased's phone only became known after the device was examined following the incident.
While speaking about the circumstances surrounding the case, Amadi continued his account of what transpired, reiterating an earlier admission that he administered a veterinary drug to the victim. He alleged that the medication came from the supplies he normally uses in his livestock business and insisted that the issue of money only emerged after the deceased's mobile phone was checked.
In his words, "It was part of the drugs I use for animal treatment I used on him. It was when his phone was checked, that my friend here discovered that there was money."
Amadi explained that he is engaged in animal farming and regularly uses veterinary medications while caring for livestock. According to him, one of those drugs was administered to Emmanuel Nwaneniya during the incident. He acknowledged that his actions were wrong but maintained that the discovery of money was not known until after the phone had been accessed.
The suspect's remarks form part of the ongoing police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nwaneniya's death. Authorities have continued to examine the statements of those involved while gathering evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine the roles played by each suspect.
