*SSANU CHAIRMAN TASKS ALUMNI ON STAFF WELFARE*

Addressing the Global President, the Chairman of SSANU, LAUTECH Branch and Chairman of JAC, *Comrade Fajoye Hamzat O.*, commended the Alumni Association for its sustained interest in the progress of the University but noted that as a major stakeholder, the Alumni must show more concern for the welfare of staff of the University.

Comrade Fajoye appealed to the Alumni body to use its vantage position to call on both the University Management, the Governing Council and the Visitor to put more effort into staff welfare.

He noted with concern that members of staff, most especially the non-teaching staff, are facing serious economic challenges due to the current economic realities in the country.

"We are facing serious economic challenges. The take-home pay can no longer take us home. We appeal to the Alumni body as our senior colleagues and major stakeholder to prevail on His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to rise up to the call for the immediate implementation of the 2026 FGN/SSANU, NASU, NAAT Agreements and to release funds for the payment of the arrears from January 2026 till date," Comrade Fajoye stated.

*ALUMNI PRESIDENT APPEALS TO GOV. MAKINDE*

In his response, the Global President, Hon. Olalekan Badmus, Ph.D, FNSE, on behalf of over 150,000 Alumni members worldwide, issued a passionate appeal to His Excellency, *Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE*, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and Visitor to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, for the prompt and immediate implementation of the 2026 Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and Unions Agreement reached with all University-based Staff Unions.

The Association noted that the 2026 FGN/Unions' Agreement, which addresses critical issues of salary structure, Earned Allowances, Conditions of Service and Staff Welfare, is germane to sustaining industrial peace in the Nigerian University System.

The Alumni body emphasized that Oyo State, as the acclaimed Pacesetter State and a model for good governance and educational advancement in Nigeria, should not be seen to delay the full implementation of the agreement for its own University.

"We are convinced that the Visitor, who has demonstrated uncommon commitment to education, will not allow LAUTECH to lag behind. We specifically appeal for the immediate release of funds to pay the arrears from January till date as requested by JAC. Full implementation will further boost morale, enhance productivity and consolidate the industrial harmony we currently enjoy," Hon. Badmus stated.

The leadership of JAC expressed appreciation to the Global President and the entire Alumni Association for their intervention and for standing in solidarity with University staff.
