....As govt uncovers 3, 500 illegal structures in  3 LGAs

Governor, the State of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has
expressed commitment of the current administration towards tackling illegal developers in the
state.

The Commissioner for Lands, Physical and Urban
Planning, Honourable Agunbiade Nathaniel disclosed this during a
closed door meeting with the management of the ministry at the state secretariat Abere Osogbo.

He said the Governor's decision followed the discovery of 3, 500 illegal structures within the state capital, Osogbo
and its environs, adding that the structures which lie across Osogbo,
Egbedore, and Olorunda local governments lack proper documentation and building plan.

In his own remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Lands, Hon. Bakare Akande stated that Governor Oyetola is working assiduously with the House of Assembly to promulgate a law that will forestall illegal construction of buildings throughout the state.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Tayo Hassan used the
occasion to warn detractors to seek for proper documentation through
the Ministry.

He advised intending developers to seek approval before embarking on building projects to avoid forfeiting
their properties in the future.
