The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Dr.Bode Olaonipekun made this known today during a courtesy visit by the International Road Safety Experts in his office.
Dr.Olaonipekun stressed that safety of lives and properties is paramount to the Governor, especially for market traders who are fond of displaying their wares along the road at various markets in the State.
He disclosed that necessary measures are being taken by Government to move all markets to built up standard markets all around the states in such a way that it will accommodate all the traders no matter the size of their businesses.
Earlier,the Leader of International Road Safety Experts, Mr. Adenusi Patrick expressed their readiness to collaborate with the State Government and Ministry of Commerce on safety of market traders and train Drivers on driving culture around market areas.
The Experts later visited some markets in the State.
