Traditional rulers in Osun State have expressed their supports and pleasure to the Governor of the State, Adegboyega Oyetola, on his education policies which sought to reverse the names of public schools in Osun to their preexisting names.
This expression of the Obas' supports was contained in a communiqué issued by the assemblage of traditional rulers in Osun Central and Osun West Senatorial Districts at the end of the first quarterly meeting of Osun Divisional Conference of Obas held Thursday at the palace of Elerin of Erin in the State.
The Obas, in their communiqué, which was jointly signed by the acting Chairman of the Conference, The Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin Aroyinkeye 1, and the Secretary, The Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV, also commended Oyetola-led administration on what they referred to as 'superlative performance' within the past fifteen months of governance.
Amid showering of royal blessings and prayers, the traditional rulers, on their joint applause and approval, unanimously passed 'a vote of confidence' on the Governor.
As contained in the communiqué, they further expressed their unalloyed support to the Governor and government of the State on "other policies meant to improve the quality of education at the primary and secondary education levels".
It would be recalled that Oyetola's predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola, introduced a unified educational policy that amalgamated and merged names and uniforms of all the public schools in the State.
It was reliably gathered however, that Oyetola's policy on reversion of the schools was borne out of public inundating pressures and plea, to which he has to oblige.
