The delegation of officials led by Dr. Rafiu Isamotu the Honourable Commissioner for Health consisted of the Honourable Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Hon. Christie Ogunfolaju, the Commissioner for Agric and food security Hon. Dayo Adewole, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs Hon. Adesegun Olanibi and the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Lekan Badmus.
Barr. Olaboopo sensitized the women on the causes and prevention methods against the pandemic. She declared the State Government's directives to shut all periodic markets in the State urging them to abide by the directives of the Government saying that it is the interest of the public and the safety of the people.
While speaking the Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives Hon.
Christie Ogunfolaju urged the market women to be vigilant and report anyone with COVID-19 symptoms to the government.
While appreciating the government officials, the Iyaloja General Alh. Hawawu Asindemade lauded the Governor and expressed the market women's readiness to abide by the directives. She described the Governor as a listening leader and appreciated him for his quick response and intervention in nailing the deadly disease, she promised on behalf of the iyalojas to comply with the government directives and to follow precautionary measures.
In his efforts, the Governor had earlier in the day addressed the citizens of the State mentioning government efforts at ensuring the safety of her people and encouraging them not to panic.
