Over 200 Yoruba Obas, whose territories fall within states boundaries in the Southwest, have come together to express their open support for the regional security network, also known as Amotekun corps.
Alara oodaye of Araland, Oba Adebisi Layade; and the Alakola of Ikola-Ijesa, Oba Festus Adeyemi, announced the endorsements at a meeting of the Royal fathers, held at the palace of Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa.
The meeting, held under the aegis of the Council of Rural Traditional Rulers for Amotekun, was at the instance of the Elerinmo, Oba Michael Ajayi Odunayo Arowotawaya the second.
They described Field Commander, Amotekun Corps, State of Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, as a dogged human rights fighter, who had used most part of his life to fight for the right of the masses.
The over 200 traditional rulers pledged their readiness to work hand in hand with Amotekun, state of Osun Field Commander, to eradicate crime in the State.

In his submission, the Alara of Oodaye, Oba Adebisi Layade, urged Comrade Amitolu Shittu to always publicize the work of Amotekun for people from the nooks and crannies of the world to know and key into the security efforts.
Responding, the Field Commander, Amotekun Corps, State of Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, commend the Traditional Council for their love and appreciated the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesha, Oba Arowotawaya, who is the Chairman of the Council; for his leadership skills.
Comrade Amitolu Shittu also saluted Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for the opportunity given him to serve as the pioneer field commander of Amotekun Corps in the State of Osun; and promised not to let the governor and the people of the state down, in his assigned duty of ensuring the security of lives and property.
It would be recalled that the Council of Rural Traditional Rulers for Amotekun had, earlier, paid a courtesy visit to Comrade Amitolu Shittu, Shortly after he was appointed by Governor ADEGBOYEGA OYETOLA to lead the state owned security outfit.
