On Tuesday 21st of July 2020 plenary proceedings I moved a motion on the need to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the cause of death of the female Airforce combatant pilot, Tolulope Arotile and it was seconded.
I expressed dismay at the circumstances that surrounded the death of late Tolulope who was the first combatant female pilot, calling it a waste of a life that was a shining light to Nigerians. The late pilot was determined, competent, level headed and was a national hero.
I concluded by calling for the following:
1. A thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding her death by the Police and other security agencies
2. The immortalization of late Tolulope by renaming a befitting Airforce structure in her name.
3. A post-humous promotion to the next rank for late Tolulope.
The Speaker of the House, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila noted that the death of Tolulope Arotile was indeed a very painful loss for the country.
The motion was voted on and adopted
May Tolulope's soul rest in peace.
