Hon. Olalekan Badmus, who is the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties in Osun State has urged Nigerians to be willing to make sacrifices that would end the country’s myriad of challenges.
This was contained in an Eid-ul Kabir message obtained from the Commissioner on Tuesday.
Badmus said, the country would have had all her problems behind her if citizens were willing to not go out of predestination, while emphasizing that Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.W) believed in the predestination and solved a generational problem that could have seen all first Male children slaughtered on eid day.
He stated that, Prophet Ibrahim did not go to his creator in supplication to change the prophecy that his son must be slaughtered to show loyalty to Almighty Allah.
According to the Commissioner, “His son, who was supposed to be in great depression was equally ready to make sacrifice so that his father (Ibrahim) could fall on the good side of the supreme being.
“He followed the instruction to details defying all emotions and human factors but in the end, another creature would die in place of his son.
“God saw the intention and spared us all till date. Nigerians should be patriotic and loyal whilst everything will gradually fall in shape. We are blessed in this country with both human and capital resources and that should be the engine driving our economy.”
He urged all and sundry to see recent happenings as a lesson for our insistent on not letting God’s scheme take due course.
Badmus however, prayed for a happy Eid-ul Kabir celebration, noting that all celebrant must also be security conscious at this sensitive period.
