No fewer than 200 constituents on Wednesday benefitted from the multi-millon Naira empowerment program of Hon. Olubukola Oyewo , representing Irepodun/Ọlọrunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency as he distributed cash grants to the beneficiaries and Market Women Cooperative Groups to supports their Businesses.
The beneficiaries of the grants were youths, widows and vulnerable groups in the constituency. The programme, organized by Lawmaker was in conjunction with the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan.
Hon. Oyewo said that the programme was a package designed to boost the beneficiaries’ businesses and cushion the effect of inflation on them.
According to him, the programme is deemed to continue as several other beneficiaries will emerge in coming days, saying that the programme was to alleviate the economic hardship of his constituents. The Market Cooperative Groups includes, Obada, ShaSha, Olobu, Elerin, Alekuwodo, Adenle, Igbonna, Ota-Efun, Oluode Markets and several others.
The participants who had earlier been trained for 3 days on the best practices of business and commerce in the challenging 21st Century business world.
He said, “This programme is in conjunction with the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, to train the participants and give grant to women, youths and under privileged in my constituency. Today, what we have done was meant for over 200 constituents.
He said that the programme was the first tranche of the empowerment programme, adding that the next edition would be expanded to accommodate more people.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Fatimah Ibrahim, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the lawmaker for his kind gesture.
Ibrahim Commended the lawmaker and urger her colleagues to make judicious use of the fund to support their Businesses.
