According to a report by DAILY POST on Sunday 27 September 2026, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has cut the pump price of petrol at some of its filling stations across Abuja.
The adjustment followed a reduction in the price of petrol at several NNPCL outlets in the Federal Capital Territory, with some stations now selling the product at N1,405 per litre.
Checks in parts of Abuja, including Gwarimpa and Kubwa, showed that the new price represents a N25 reduction from the previous N1,430 per litre.
However, the reduction has not been uniform across all NNPCL stations; Some outlets along Kubwa Expressway, Air Junction and Wuse Zones 4 and 5 continued to dispense petrol at N1,395 per litre.
Other major filling stations, including MRS, Ranoil, AA Rano and Empire Energy, were also selling petrol at prices within the range of N1,395 and N1,430 per litre.
The latest development comes shortly after the Dangote Refinery reduced its gantry price by N25 per litre, bringing the refinery's petrol price to N1,325 per litre.
Despite the recent adjustments, several filling stations have yet to reflect the reductions in their pump prices.
The varying prices have continued to attract attention from motorists and other consumers, who are seeking further reductions in the cost of petrol amid prevailing international crude oil prices.
Brent crude was trading around $104 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate stood at about $92 per barrel at the time of the report.
