Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a fleeing suspected kidnapper, Anetor Destiny at Ila-Orangun in Ila LGA of the State on Sunday, January 1st, 2023.
The field commander, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, on Tuesday told newsmen in Osogbo that the suspect was a member of a notorious kidnap gang terrorizing some parts of Edo State and relocated to osun state before luck ran against him.
Shittu said he was tracked following his suspicious movement in town which led to his arrest by men of the corps.
According to him, the suspect was arrested following his suspicious movement in the ancient town which prompt the corps to arrest him for questioning.
Shittu said during interrogation, he confessed to being a member of a kidnap gang, whose other members have fled.
He said, "He informed the Amotekun that they were five in number, namely Emma 20years who is the gang leader, Isaac, 17yr, Happiness 18 years, Abraham 18 years and that when he was apprehended, the other members ran in different directions in the bush.
"He confessed further that their gang was responsible for the kidnapping in Benin/Ondo expressway and they operate with guns and another dangerous weapons.
Shittu commended members of the general public for supporting the corps by giving them useful information.
He assured that other members of the gang would be fished out wherever they might be.
He added that Amotekun remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for the people of Osun.
