Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate vying for the Osogbo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Prince Bolaji Oyekanmi(PBO), is set to sponsor a tech and digital skill scholarship program for 200 youths in the territory.
The free *technical training* aims to equip youths in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu with *incredibly powerful skills in the Tech and Digital Sector* which will *position them to be in constant demand by employers and businesses, and also become employers of the labor themselves.*
According to a statement issued by the SDP stalwart on Friday, the project is set to be organized in collaboration with Marketleag, *the first and foremost technology transfer Company in Africa, and will involve technical training, internship opportunity, and access to the market for the selected applicants.*
The Techlab also specializes in helping businesses and individuals to develop tech and digital capabilities that are most applicable to their specific line of businesses or disciplines said Marketleag founder.
Prince Oyekanmi emphasized that the intervention scheme is for the benefit of the youths and is markedly different from the usual practice of politicians handing out food and money during the electioneering period.
The widespread impact professional said the scholarship is targeted at individuals *who want to build a fantastic foundation for their dream career in tech, who want to secure high-paying tech jobs, who love remote jobs with incredible offers, who desire to learn new technologies and keep up with trends in digital and tech space, or who want to develop the digital capability to apply in their businesses.*
"We all know that the future belongs to the youths who are innovative and industrious. They are also the bedrock for development if supported.
“I will empower the youths to realize their full potential, and that will be one of my key priorities if given the mandate," he said.
This fully funded *tech Bootcamp will provide its beneficiaries with practical and highly marketable skills in areas including web development and app development, digital marketing and content marketing, and creative designs.*
The training sessions will be handled by seasoned Tech and Digital skill instructors from Marketleag.
Prince Oyekanmi, while reaffirming his commitment towards the empowerment of women and youths in his region, said this explains why he is partnering with a new-generation Tech Startup company to deliver high-quality *technical training* to his people.
"This initiative is a part of my much larger vision of bringing innovation into political representation, and I am optimistic that this effort will be a game changer for the economy of my dear constituency,” the SDP candidate posited.
He revealed that the forthcoming event is one of the numerous programs designed to encourage *innovation, creativity, and youth entrepreneurship* and, above all, strengthen the ailing local economy.
