Democracy Day: Egalitarian Network Nigeria DG, Adejumo Micheal congratulates Nigerians ...tasks government to strengthen democratic institutions


The Director General of Egalitarian Network Nigeria, Comrade Adejumo Micheal has urged the Nigerian government to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.


He made the calls in Osogbo during an interview with the newsmen, he described the June 12, 1993 election as a remarkable day in the history of Nigeria where the free and fair election was annulled by the military junta Gen. Ibrahim Babangida which spark up protest for justice for the winner of the presidential election Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and Babagana Kingibe and the protest then gave back to democracy in 1999 which the nation is enjoying till date.


He condemned the act of some political officeholders who are siphoning the resources that are meant for the betterment of all Nigerians and the government should deal with those found culpable of the act to serve as a deterrent to others.


He encouraged Nigerians to manage what they have presently and avoid going back to what people experienced during the military era.


He advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work on the revitalization of the Nigerian economy and honor those who fought for the democracy the masses are enjoying presently with National Honour Award.
