Osun APC Cautions Police Over Being Willing Tools In The Hand Of Adeleke ... Condemns Invitation Of Member

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the use of the police by Governor Ademola Adeleke and his co-travellers in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to oppress, intimidate and suppress the voices of the opposition in the state.

A prominent member of the APC in the state who is hyperactive in the social media, Mr Olusegun Fawale, was invited by one police officer, Adejare, by a telephone call through 09036559572 from the State Investigation Bureau(SIB) stating that he has been directed by the State Commissioner of Police to invite him for questioning at 9:30am today (Monday) relating to a matter being investigated by the police command.

According to the state acting chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the state capital today,  the state commissioner of police should refuse being used for dirty political assignments because of its debilitating repercussions which would not be in the best interest of the police force.

Lawal enjoined the state Commissioner of Police to lecture his men to steer clear of political matters as they are capable of truncating their professional careers.

The state acting chairman of the APC reminded the police and the PDP that the APC in the state  is intact and would never allow its fundamental human rights to be trampled upon without any force of the law of the land by any body  or corporate body.

He tasked the state Commissioner of Police to discourage the dropping of his name by some disgruntled members of the force to tarnish the image of the police.

Lawal pointed out that though it would not be easy to know if the invitation of his member is genuinely at the instance of the commissioner of police but whatever the situation is, the invited member of his party has agreed to honour the invitation.

He stated that the invitee should be given all the due honour under the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as anything short of this would attract a legal challenge from the APC based on the rule of law upon which the governance of the nation is based.

In Lawal's words: "For the information of the doubting Thomases, I am extremely happy to inform the members of the public that the APC is still very much alive and it shall not be found wanting to perform its constitutional roles as and when required.

"Those who are thinking that the APC has gone under because of its plight orchestrated by the  series of the rigged elections by the PDP hoodlums are making a great mistake. We're  only waiting in the wings. We are coming back soon", the state APC acting chairman vowed.
