*Request to Upgrade Itagunmodi Police Post to Divisional Police Headquarters*

Your Excellency,

The youth of Itagunmodi hereby urgently appeal to the government for the upgrading of the Itagunmodi Police Post to a Divisional Police Headquarters. This request is founded on the government's duty to safeguard the lives and property of its citizens and to bolster the security of Itagunmodi and its neighboring communities against potential external threats.

Currently, the Itagunmodi Police Post serves not only Itagunmodi village but also the surrounding communities of Amuta, Ariye, Alaba, Oke Ipa, and Store, Araromi, among others. This broad coverage area has rendered the existing police post inadequate for effectively managing and responding to the diverse and escalating security challenges faced by these communities.

Alapa Oladapo, the convener of Itagunmodi Frontier, articulated, "The current capacity of the Itagunmodi Police Post is insufficient to meet the security needs of our expanding communities. Upgrading to a Divisional Police Headquarters will enable better resource allocation, quicker response times, and a more robust security framework for our region."

On May 30, 2016, our esteemed Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty Oba Famodewa-Kosile Michael Ojo Olalekan (J.P), the Alagunmodi of Itagunmodi, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen while traveling between Iyere and Itagunmodi. Since then, we have faced numerous security challenges, including reports of missing farm products, with the perpetrators remaining unidentified. The influx of fellow Nigerians from the northern part of the country, seeking greener pastures, has further underscored the need to enhance our security infrastructure.

We, the youth of Itagunmodi, firmly believe that a safer environment is crucial for building a prosperous future for all residents of Itagunmodi and its neighboring areas. This upgrade is a critical step toward achieving this goal, ensuring that law enforcement is well-equipped to handle any security issues promptly and effectively.

In our appeal, we emphasize that establishing a Divisional Police Headquarters will not only improve security but also foster greater community trust and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

"Together, we can build a safer and more prosperous future for the people of Itagunmodi and its environs," concluded Alapa Oladapo.

The Itagunmodi Frontier calls on all stakeholders, including local and state government officials, community leaders, and residents, to support this initiative for the betterment of the Atakunmosa constituency.

Signed,

Alapa Oladapo
