CONDOLENCES: Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Omoyele Condoles with Governor Adeleke, Ilobu Community, Kabiesi of Ilobu and Nigerian Army over the Death of COAS Lt General Lagbaja


The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Omoyele Isaac Adekunle, has extended his deepest condolences to the people of Ilobu, Osun State, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the bereaved family, and the Nigerian Army following the untimely passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja.


Dr. Omoyele, in his message, expressed profound sadness and shock over the loss of the esteemed military leader. He described the late Lt. General Lagbaja as an embodiment of dedication, courage, and exceptional service to Nigeria, noting that his contributions to national security and the Nigerian Army would forever be cherished.


"On behalf of the Osun Amotekun Corps, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the OBA Ashiru, Olobu of Ilobu most especially the entire family of the late Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Government and people of Osun State, and the entire Nigerian Army," Dr. Omoyele said. "His death is not only a loss to the Army but also to our nation as a whole, as he was a pillar in the defense of our country's sovereignty and peace."


The Commander also conveyed his deepest sympathy to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, and the people of Ilobu, where the late Chief of Army Staff hailed from. He reiterated that the late General’s legacy of leadership and patriotism would remain etched in the hearts of all Nigerians, particularly those in the military and security sectors.


While urging the Nigerian Army to remain steadfast in the pursuit of its mandate to safeguard the nation, Dr. Omoyele called for unity and resilience, particularly during this period of mourning. "The loss of such a great leader is a reminder to us all of the sacrifices that men and women in uniform make daily to secure our nation. We must all remain focused and continue to work together in support of their efforts."


The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander also prayed for the repose of Lt. General Lagbaja’s soul and strength for his family, friends, and colleagues as they navigate this difficult time. He concluded by assuring the people of Ilobu, Osun State, and the Nigerian Army of his unwavering support as they mourn the passing of a true national hero.
