Prof. Siji Olamiju Akol has commiserated with the family of Sheik Alhaji Zakariyah Sarumi Grand Imam of Ipetu Ijesa on the demise of his mother, Alhaja Halimat Sarumi. Akol, who was accompanied by some members of APC New Spring Forum,such as Pastor Adebayo Temitope, Hon Lawal Dauda Oyedotun, Hon Sulema Rasak among others during the burial.
Describing Alhaja Halimat's passing as a colossal loss, Akol noted that she lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation. "She was a virtuous woman who raised exceptional children, including the Chief Imam of Ipetu Ijesa Shaykh Alh. Zakariyah Sarumi and other distinguished grandchildren who have served in various capacities,like Hon Abdulazeez Sarumi, such as Secretary of the local government and Councillor," Akol said.
Akol fondly remembered Alhaja Halimat's warmth and love for children. "We often visited her when we were young, and she welcomed us with open arms. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and community service will never be forgotten."
Akol prayed for Alhaja Serifat's soul to rest in peace and urged her children to continue emulating her exemplary life. "May her memory inspire you to sustain her good deeds, and may God grant you the strength to bear this loss.
