The Coalition of Concerned Nigeria Citizens (CCNC), a prominent human rights group committed to promoting good governance and social justice has called on the Federal Government to drop all the treason charges against the protesters of endvadgovernance. The group through her new chairman *Com. Musa Abdusalam Akinkunmi* on Friday at the coalition Secretariat called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act as a true Democrat by dismissing all cases of treasons charged on #endbadgovernance protesters . For over seven months that the masses demanded for a better life for the citizens, it has been turned into a treasonable offence.
The Coalition which led the movement of #Endbadgovernance and hunger protest in Osun state was concerned that many promises from the government to ameliorate the condition of hunger and hardship have not been met.
Also, many who participated in the #Endbadgovernance protest are now facing trial for treason in Abuja,Lagos as well as Kano. This for us is a clear indication that there is no regard for human rights in Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.
We hereby strongly appeal to the federal government to drop the charges against *Adaramoye Michael Lenin* and the 10 others charged with treason. The trial of the activists for treasonable felony is an attempt to witch-hunt and suppress the rights of the people to demand for good governance.
Despite the climate of intimidation and fear that the regime is trying to impose, we remain committed to continue to raise the concerns relating to the welfare of the citizens which is one of the fundamental roles of the government at all levels.
It is worrisome that most governments at all levels promised by mouth and care less about the citizens. For over 7-months that the #Endbadgovernance protest was brought to a halt, the government has not met with the demands presented. Instead, the price of fuel, electricity, telecommunications data, food and services have skyrocketed since then with no considerable implementation of policies that could reduce the impact of inflation on the people.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu* promised to engage different youth groups on what is tagged youth confab with the expectations that a clear cut methodology and approach that will address the main issue relating to the demands of the people will be released,the recent committee set up is yet to come out with clear cut plan and methodologies.
Information has it that some political jobbers have started to lobby to be part of the conference which may be a political jamboree as many active groups at the front of #endbadgovernance protest were sidelined.
The whole idea of the youth confab itself is to provide a genuine avenue to listen to the demands of the youth, If that was the purpose, then the government would not at the same time be persecuting genuine youth leaders and activists who participated in the August 1-10 2024 #Endbadgovernance protest. Rather, the whole idea of the youth confab is looking like a jamboree when the real faces of youth that ought to be represented are on trial.
Today, it is evident that those who speak the truth to the power become the enemy of the state and this is a bad omen for democracy .
The Coalition of concerned Nigeria Citizens(CCNC) appeal to president *Bola Ahmed Tinubu* to address major economic issues affecting the masses,most especially the unjust increase in telecommunications data and airtime which has made life more difficult for the youth. The self sponsored political crisis in some state which has infringed on citizens fundamental human rights should be addressed while the political gladiators are cautioned.
The injustice witnessed and the abuse of human rights during the #Endbadgovernance protest leading to the detaining of minors is worth pondering over. As much as we want a better system of governance, we won't allow politicians to use us as a gamer going forward.
It is important to stress that protest is our inalienable rights, and no Protesters should be regarded as criminals. The Nigeria government should also halt all attacks on democratic rights. This is the only way the proposed youth confab can earn the trust and confidence of genuine youth representatives and civil society activists.

also emphasized the need for the Osun State government to look at what was promised during the #Endbadgovernnance protest for better life of the citizen.
The group emphasized collaboration and consensus in selecting representatives from states in transparent manners, most especially in Osun State and urge the state and federal government to live up to what they promised the citizens.
According to the CCNC Leaders, “This is a pivotal moment for Osun State and it is crucial that we come together to ensure that our voices are effectively heard on both State and National platforms" .
The organization also called on Osun state government to look into the hike and unpatriotic manner at which the house agent increases the charge on rent which has choked the citizens as well as the epileptic power supply in some areas by the IBEDC .
The group equally condemn politicians in the state for turning the IFON/ILOBU land boundary dispute to a political affairs . The group however sued for peace in the community. It is equally important to warn politicians calling for a state of emergency in Osun state, such a call showed that those politicians(s) are enemies of the masses .
