With the approval of His Excellency, Asiwaju Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, the Olojudo (Alayemore) of Ido-Osun Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola, has inaugurated a 24-member Organising Committee for his upcoming coronation ceremony.
The coronation, scheduled to take place from Thursday, 22nd May, to Sunday, 25th May 2025, will be a historic event for the people of Ido-Osun, bringing together distinguished dignitaries, traditional rulers, and well-wishers from across the country and beyond.
The Organising Committee is chaired by Hon. Bamidele Salam, with Hon. Rotimi Ogunrinade and Hon. Sanya Okunade serving as Co-Chairmen of the Steering and Planning Committees, respectively. Barr. Wahab Wemimo has been appointed as the Secretary.
The committee is tasked with planning and overseeing all aspects of the coronation ceremony. Hon. Salam and other members are expected to bring their vast leadership experience to the team and are committed to making the coronation a memorable occasion that will reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Ido-Osun Kingdom.
Programme of Events
The following key events have been scheduled in preparation for the coronation:
• Interdenominational service
• Football competition
• Gala night
• Conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished personalities
• Jumat and church services
• Grand finale, among others
The Organising Committee, under the leadership of Hon. Bamidele Salam, Hon. Rotimi Ogunrinade, and Hon. Sanya Okunade, has expressed its commitment to ensuring that the coronation of the Olojudo (Alayemore) of Ido-Osun will be an event to remember—a symbol of unity, culture, and pride for the people of the kingdom.
