Amotekun nabs 15 suspects for various offences in Osun
The Amotekun Corps in Osun State has arrested Fifteen(15) suspects for various offences in the state.
Below are the details of the press briefing obtained by this Online newspaper;
KIDNAPPING/ ATTEMPTED MURDER IN ATAKUMOSA EAST
On May 29, 2025, at approximately 20:40hrs, we received a distress call from Itapa in Atakumosa East regarding unidentified armed Squads in camouflage moving suspiciously around the town with sophisticated weapons. The gangs have arrested and unleashed terror on some people in the town. Our operatives responded swiftly, leading to the arrest of five suspects:Ayodele Ogunsola (45)Lekan Adeyeri (35)Ariyo Dare (40)Sunday Adeyeri (54)Adeyeri Oladele (36)While others remain at large, the arrested suspects confessed to the crime. Some exhibits were recovered from them a pump action gun and criminal charms. Victims have come to identify the suspects and make useful statements. Investigations are ongoing.
ARMED ROBBERY IN OKE-ONITEA, OSOGBO
On May 31, 2025, at 4:10hrs, we responded to a distress call about a robbery in progress in the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo. Although the suspects initially evaded capture, our intelligence team tracked and apprehended:Shogo Oriade (30)Asimiyu Toheeb, (28)
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the robbery and admitted to having committed similar crimes in the past. Legal proceedings have commenced.
THEFT OF BUILDING MATERIALS IN GRA, OSOGBO
On May 30, 2025, at about 20:30hrs our personnel arrested Oladimeji Abdullateef (35) in connection with the theft of Molly Blocks worth N450,000 from a construction site in the GRA area of Osogbo. The arrest followed a prompt report by the complainant, Mr. Abdulrosheed Oseni. The suspect was traced to his hideout and confessed to the crime upon interrogation. Further investigations revealed additional items were missing.
CASE OF RAPE
At about 6:30hrs on Monday 2nd June, 2025, Abdulateef Ajao, 28 years, was arrested for luring a 8 years old girl, primary 3 pupil inside his house in Ode-Omu in the guise of buying pepper from her and girl escaped from him and she reports the matter to her parent. while a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Ayedaade Command and the operatives swung into action, he was arrested in his house, he confessed to the crime. The suspect will be charged to serve as a deterrent to others.
CASE OF RAPE AND ASSAULT
At about 21:40hrs, On May 29th, 2025, Raji Ridwan, 25 years, was arrested for forcefully entered the 17 years old girl room of a 200 level student of Federal University of Health Technology Ila-Orangun, and trying to rape the girl. The girl escaped for being raped after raising alarm and ran away, A complaint was lodged against his activities at the Amotekun Ila-Orangun Command and the operatives swung into action immediately and arrested him in his hideout. He confessed to the crime and he is a serial rapist who has rape one of his siblings before and he always luring the young girl hawking inside his room and rape them. Upon investigation by the Intelligence and Investigation department of Amotekun he was discovered that he was a serial rapist who is not ready to repent. He will be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others.
Drug related offence:
Makanjuola Sodiq, 29 , Jide Ojo (25), Toheeb Moruf, 29, Azeez Abdulai, 20, Ademola Kehinde (25).
Information received from good Samaritan of a vulnerable point in Ejigbo were different types of drugs is been dispersed. Amotekun narcotic squad moved in a commando like manner and arrested the above named suspects with cannabis sativa known as Indian hemp. They were assisting the team in efforts to rid the criminals.
We urge the good people of Osun State to remain vigilant and continue supporting our efforts by reporting any suspicious activity to the Amotekun Corps or other relevant security agencies.
Omoyele further said all suspects will be charged to court after due investigation and to serve as deterrent to others.
