Eid al-Adha: Olaonipekun Felicitates with Muslims, Urges Prayers for Nation's Leaders

 

The immediate past Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperative, Investment and Empowerment in Osun State, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, has congratulated Muslims across the state and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 1445 AH Eid al-Adha celebration.

In a statement issued by his media office and made available to journalists in Osogbo, Dr. Olaonipekun described Eid al-Adha as a sacred season that symbolizes sacrifice, patience, and endurance. He noted that the festival provides a unique opportunity for Muslims to deepen their faith and reaffirm their commitment to the values of compassion and selflessness.

He urged the Muslim faithful to reflect on the profound teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose act of supreme obedience and willingness to sacrifice remains a cornerstone of the celebration. According to him, embracing these virtues can help build a more united and morally grounded society.

Dr. Olaonipekun also used the occasion to call on Muslims to offer special prayers for the continued success of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola, CON. He emphasized that national development requires the support and prayers of all citizens, regardless of religion.

He further appealed for unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, stressing that the country can only thrive when its people work together in love and harmony, especially during spiritually significant periods like Eid.

"I wish you a modest and peaceful celebration. May we all live to witness many more in good health and happiness," he added.
