OSPOLY ALUMNI EXECUTIVE APPEALS COURT JUDGMENT; Seeks A Stay of Execution


The Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association has taken a significant step in its ongoing legal matter to appeal the High Court judgement, and sought a stay of execution over the current ongoing legal crises in the Association. 


The National President of the Association, Alhaji Yakub Akeem Adebayo, has appealed the judgment and asked the court for a stay of execution.


According to a statement signed by Alhaji Adebayo, the court application  order reads: "An order of this court staying the execution of the Judgment of this Court delivered on the 22nd day of May, 2025 in SUIT No: HIR/12/2024 (BETWEEN ABOSEDE OLUWASEUN BUSAYO & I OR VS THE REGISTERED TRUSTEES OF OSUN STATE OF POLYTECHNIC IREE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION & 6 ORS) pending the determination of an appeal filed on the 29th Day of May, 2025 at the Court of Appeal Akure AND for such further or other orders this court may deem fit to make in the circumstance."


The president further disclosed that the Appeal and stay of execution is neccesary for the Association and individual who respect the court of law. 


The Appeal Application sought the following reliefs:


1. AN ORDER of the Court allowing the appeal.

2. AN ORDER Setting aside the judgment of the Hon. Justice G.O. Lawal delivered on the 22nd day of May, 2025 in SUIT No: HIR/12/2024 (BETWEEN ABOSEDE OLUWASEUN BUSAYO & I OR VS THE REGISTERED TRUSTEES OF OSUN STATE OF POLYTECHNIC IREE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION & 6 ORS).

3. AN ORDER of the Court of Appeal dismissing 1st and 2nd Respondents’ before the lower court.


Alh Yakub Akeem Adebayo who expressed gratitude to all members of Ospoly Alumni for their massive love and support also urged members to remain calm and focused on the collective good of the association. "We urge those who took us to court to reconsider their actions and join hands with us in re-engineering the Osun State Polytechnic Iree Alumni Association for the benefit of all members," the statement read.


 "Instead of chasing shadows, we invite them to work together towards a common goal of progress and development."


The association's leadership, under Alhaji Yakubu Akeem Adebayo, is set to roll out a series of programmes in the coming days that will benefit members, students, and the hosting community. 


These initiatives will further cement the association's commitment to the growth and development of the polytechnic and the larger community.
