Akol lauds Bello and Owoeye on Birthdays


Hon. Prof. Siji Olamiju (Akol) has extended his warm congratulations to two distinguished politicians and former speakers of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ambassador Adejare Bello and Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, on their birthdays.


In a statement released through the New Spring Media Team, Akol extolled Bello's enduring legacy, describing him as "an icon of democracy, a stalwart statesman, and a shining example of selfless service. Olamiju noted that Bello's impact on Osun politics is indelible, and his legacy will forever be etched in the annals of the state's history.


He highlighted the remarkable achievements of both Bello and Owoeye during their tenure as Speakers of the Osun State House of Assembly. He noted that they spearheaded the enactment of the Frigil Law, catapulting Osun to a model state in Nigeria. Akol praised Bello's resilience in the face of political persecution, driven by his progressive ideals and commitment to serving God and humanity. He also remark his stainless records as Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico.


On the other hand, Professor Olamiju commended Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye for his unwavering commitment to progressive ideals. He noted that Owoeye's rise from ward councillor to Assembly member and became an Osun speaker is a testament to his dedication to public service. Akol praised Owoeye for remaining resolute in his progressive values, even when faced with opportunities to defect to the ruling party from opposition.


Akol wishes the celebrants many more glorious years of service to Osun and Nigeria, as they continue to inspire generations with their wisdom, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the public good. He noted that Bello and Owoeye's contributions to Osun State's development and Nigeria at large
