BREAKING: Police Dismiss Officer Over Theft of Goat


The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a police constable from the Taraba State Command for involvement in the theft of a goat.

According to an official communication from the Commissioner of Police, DFA Jalingo, addressed to the Divisional Police Officer in Mutum Biyu, the officer in question, identified as PC Usman Mohammed, was serving with the Mutum Biyu Division.

The dismissal was carried out following due disciplinary procedures and was approved in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulation 370, Cap 389 of the 2010 Laws of the Federation (as amended).

The offence falls under paragraph ‘E’ of the First Schedule of the Police Act and was deemed serious enough to warrant immediate termination of the officer’s appointment.

The police authorities have also instructed the retrieval of all official items issued to the dismissed officer, including his police identification card, and the suspension of his salary. His service records will be updated accordingly to reflect the dismissal.
