Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly stormed the Green Legacy Hotel, located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the early hours of Sunday.
The operation, said to have been conducted by EFCC operatives from the Lagos zonal office, led to the arrest of several youths suspected of internet fraud. Over 20 luxury vehicles and other valuables were allegedly confiscated during the raid, which occurred while a pool party was ongoing at the venue.
Although the EFCC has yet to officially confirm the operation, the Managing Director of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, acknowledged the incident. “There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know,” he stated.
When contacted, EFCC Lagos spokesperson Ayo Oyewole said he was unaware of the operation but assured that he would provide further information in due course.
