Dele Farotimi, a human rights lawyer and activist, has cautioned against a coalition seeking to wrestle power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027, questioning the credibility of some politicians involved.
Farotimi, who spoke on 60 Minutes with Mr Kay, on leadership failures and unkept promises in Nigeria, which would be aired on News Central TV on Wednesday evening, expressed skepticism about the coalition's intentions, citing past failures and broken promises by some of its potential members.

Farotimi also referenced the incumbent governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, who allegedly promised jobs abroad after his second term election but failed to deliver.
He said, "If all that they're doing in the name of coalition is that they're going to bring that odious fellow from Kaduna, bringing characters that have ruined this country, the one who couldn't pay my father's gratuity in Osun, if it’s those ones, they have lost.

"Look at that one in Imo State that was lying to the people that they're going to be having jobs abroad once they won the election. How many jobs have come from Europe for the people of Imo State since he went there?”
“Nigerians are aware that their politicians are fraudsters," he added.
Speaking on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, the human rights lawyer said that contrary to their claims of achievement, Nigerians cannot move freely in the cities, adding that whatever they claim is working is only working for those in the administration.
"All they need is to recruit more people who are incapable of questioning them even as they destroy the country," he said.
