The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has emphasized that the revered position of Olubadan of Ibadanland is determined solely by divine will.
Ladoja made this assertion on Monday through a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade. The former governor made the remarks upon his return to Ibadan, during a gathering at his Bodija residence.
“Only God appoints the Olubadan,” he said. “It is not a position attained by power, wealth, intelligence, or influence. Reaching this peak of Ibadan’s traditional leadership, despite numerous obstacles, is a clear testament to God’s plan.”
Ladoja also used the occasion to urge citizens and residents of Ibadan to prioritize national unity and development. He called for collective support for leaders across all levels of government—local, state, and federal—stressing the importance of unity in governance and community progress.
