The Nigerian Army has rescued 27 passengers abducted by armed men in Amoda community, Ohimini LGA of Benue State. The operation was part of a broader offensive under Operation Whirl Stroke, during which troops overpowered the kidnappers at their hideout, ensuring the safe release of the victims.
This success forms part of the Army’s intensified nationwide counter-terrorism and anti-crime campaign. Across various regions, troops neutralized 15 terrorists, arrested 42 criminal suspects, and rescued 30 kidnap victims.
In the North East, soldiers clashed with Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents in Dikwa, Gwoza, Bama, Banki, and Gujba—killing 15 and seizing weapons, explosives, motorcycles, and communication devices.
Elsewhere, security forces apprehended 15 individuals for drug-related offenses in Kaduna, 25 for oil theft in Bayelsa, and two in Delta. In the South South, illegal crude oil bunkering sites were dismantled in Imo, Rivers, and Delta states.
