No State In Core North Has Christian Commissioner,In Borno We Counted 5Christian Commissioners—Kukah

Matthew Kukah, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, has stated that he was not worried about the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of President Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, before the 2023 election because he had known both of them for a long time.

In a video shared by Arise TV, Bishop Kukah said when Shettima was governor of Borno State, he and other members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference visited Maiduguri. He said Shettima welcomed them warmly.
Bishop Kukah further stated that no state in the core northern region can boast of having even one Christian commissioner but during their visit, they counted five commissioners in Shettima's cabinet who were Christians.
In Bishop Kukah's words: "If it is Shettima, I have known him. We went to Maiduguri, when he was governor, as members of the Bishop conference. He received us. There is no single state in the core north that can boast of having a Christian as a commissioner, but in Borno State we counted 5 commissioners who were Christians"
