The ALUBARIKA Movement, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Kehinde Olamolu, expresses profound sorrow over the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, Owa of Igbajo,a towering figure in public service, traditional leadership, and progressive politics.
Oba Famodun was a statesman of uncommon depth, a bridge builder, and a custodian of both cultural heritage and democratic ideals. Prior to his ascension to the royal throne, he served meritoriously as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, where he provided stabilising leadership, strengthened party cohesion, and championed progressive values across the state. His transition from political stewardship to the revered Owa stool symbolised his lifelong commitment to service, unity, and community advancement.
Beyond his political and royal achievements, Oba Famodun was widely respected for his intellectual composure, administrative discipline, and unwavering dedication to the prosperity of Igbajo land. His reign, though brief, rekindled hope and reinforced the cultural identity of his people.
The ALUBARIKA Movement extends heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Owa in Council, the Igbajo community, and the progressive family statewide. His passing is a monumental loss, not only to the ancient town of Igbajo but to Osun State at large.
We pray for divine strength and solace for all who mourn him, and we stand in solidarity with the people of Igbajo as they honour the legacy of an exceptional monarch, leader, and patriot.
