The Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Maaroof Kayode Ogundipe, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Owa of Igbajo Land, Oba Phillip Adegboyega Famodun, describing the loss as a painful blow to the Progressive family and the entire Osun traditional institution.
Hon. Ogundipe, in an emotionally charged condolence message, said the late monarch was not only a custodian of culture and tradition but a steadfast pillar of progressive politics, whose leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remain exemplary.
He noted that Oba Famodun, who was also the immediate past Chairman of the Osun APC, lived a life of purpose, dignity, and exemplary leadership qualities that endeared him to his people and strengthened the progressive fold across the state.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the royal family of Igbajo, the sons and daughters of Igbajo Kingdom, and the entire APC family in Osun State,” Ogundipe said. “Kabiyesi’s demise is a monumental loss. He was a unifying force, a strategic leader, and a father whose contributions to our party and our state will remain unforgettable.”
The Obokun LG boss prayed for God to grant the royal household, the Igbajo community, and the progressive family the strength to bear the irreparable loss, while also praying for the repose of the monarch’s soul.
He urged members of the APC to honour the memory of the late traditional ruler by sustaining unity, peace, and the progressive ideals he tirelessly championed.
