The former president of the Nigerian Football Federation NFF, Amaju Pinnick has addressed the controversies that trailed the stadium built in Kebbi State with help from the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA. According to his statements during an interview on AriseTv, he disclosed the reasons why FIFA posted the viral footage on their website.

Many were left stunned after the footage of the stadium built by the Nigerian Football Federation NFF, through the help of FIFA in Kebbi State went viral across various social media platforms.
The image, which was shared by the international football governing body on their official website had a cryptic message, with investigations showing that FIFA supported the project with $1.2million.
However, while many believed the outcome did not match the humongous amount meant for the project, the former NFF boss, Amaju Pinnick has addressed the controversies during a recent interview on AriseTv.

According to his statements which were shared by the popular television outlet on their official X handle on Thursday November 6th 2025, he pointed out that he was proud of the stadium.
The reasons for posting the image on their website according to Amaju Pinnick, was to highlight the fact that there was football activities going on in the remote areas of Nigeria and not to demonize the infrastructure.
He concluded by stating that the stadium, which generated controversies and controversial comments from football lovers, was built according to acceptable standards.
