The family of the late Mama Emily Shasanmi (Nee Adeyanju) has announced that her remains will be laid to rest on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In a statement made available to the press in Osogbo, her daughter, Evangelist Matilda Farinde, who also serves as the President of the Brave Women Progressive Association (BWPA), described her late mother as a virtuous woman who lived a life of faith, love, and service to God and humanity.
According to Evangelist Farinde, “My mother lived a fulfilling and exemplary life. She was a devout Christian who dedicated her years to serving God and raising her children and grandchildren in the fear of the Lord. We take comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the bosom of our Lord.”
The funeral arrangements, as announced by the family, are as follows:
Body Departure: The remains of the late Mama Emily Shasanmi will depart Jaleyemi Hospital, Osogbo, on Friday, November 7, 2025, and will be taken to her residence at Damola, Ado-Ekiti.
Interment: A brief lying-in-state will be held at her residence before proceeding to City Gate Private Cemetery, Ado-Ekiti, for interment.
Reception: Guests and well-wishers will be entertained at her residence in Damola, Ado-Ekiti, immediately after the burial ceremony.
Mama Emily Shasanmi peacefully departed this world on October 11, 2025, at the age of 85. She was an indigene of Idoani, in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory and uphold her legacy of faith, kindness, and humility.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
