The Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hon. Olalekan Badmus, today reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to community development as he joined residents of Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Federal Constituency for another round of grassroots empowerment under the NPA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The event, organised in partnership with the Ilerioluwa Empowerment Initiative, marked the continuation of a robust CSR intervention that has run consistently for the past three years. A total of 250 artisans, traders and women received direct support to strengthen their small businesses and livelihoods. The items distributed included empowerment grants, deep freezers, power-generating sets, business tools and other essential equipment designed to boost economic productivity and enhance household income.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Badmus expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve his people through initiatives that directly uplift communities and stimulate local enterprise.
“Every time we reach out in this manner, I am reminded that true and sustainable development begins with the people—especially those working tirelessly every day to build a better life. Community empowerment remains a passion for me, and I am grateful for the privilege to contribute through my role at the Nigerian Ports Authority,” he said.
Hon. Badmus acknowledged the unwavering support of the NPA Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantosho, whose leadership, he noted, has significantly strengthened the Authority’s CSR footprint nationwide. He affirmed that since his appointment as Executive Director, Osun State has continued to benefit from impactful CSR projects, adding that more initiatives are already in the pipeline.
He also extended appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve. Special recognition was given to the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, whom he described as a mentor and pillar of support in advancing development-driven programmes.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Badmus offered words of encouragement:
“I congratulate every beneficiary today. May these tools and grants open doors of growth, expansion and prosperity for you and your families. Your success is the true measure of the impact we seek to achieve.”
Reiterating his commitment to building stronger and more resilient communities, Hon. Badmus called on residents of Osun State to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC). He further urged constituents to stand firmly behind Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as the party moves towards the Osun 2026 governorship election.
“Together, with unity, vision and purposeful leadership, we will continue to move Osun forward,” he concluded.
