The Odo-Otin Local Government Chairman , Hon. Oladele Adepoju has formally presented to the council's Legislative Council, its 2026 Appropriation Bill, christened the “Budget of Prosperity,” with a proposed expenditure of ₦7.5 billion, underscoring the administration’s commitment to economic growth, social welfare and sustainable development at the grassroots.
The budget presentation, held at the council secretariat, attracted top government functionaries, political leaders and stakeholders from across the local government area.
Presiding over the legislative session was the Leader of the House, Hon. Babatunde Tajudeen Aderemi, alongside other councillors and members of the legislative arm.
Presenting the budget, the Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Adepoju Oladele Iko, described the 2026 fiscal plan as a people-centred document designed to unlock the vast economic potential of the local government while improving the quality of life of residents.
According to him, the “Budget of Prosperity” places agriculture at the forefront, in recognition of Odo-Otin’s rich agricultural heritage and its strategic importance to food security, job creation and revenue generation. He noted that deliberate investments would be made to support farmers, enhance value chains and stimulate agro-based enterprises across the local government.
Other critical sectors captured in the budget include healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, education, security, and social development, reflecting a holistic approach to governance and inclusive growth.
The session drew notable dignitaries, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin and members of the executive arm of the council, including Hon. Prince Adekeye Iyiola Adebayo, Hon. Prince Akinloye Aliu, Elder Duro Olaleke, Alhaji Bintu Dada, Baba Moyinoluwa Ogunwale, Hon. Muftau Abioye, and Deacon Folofunsho Emmanuel, who commended the administration for its development-driven agenda.
The council projected an expected revenue generation of ₦1.5 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with assurances that measures would be intensified to improve internally generated revenue while ensuring prudent financial management.
Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism that the successful implementation of the budget would usher in a new era of prosperity, accelerated development and improved service delivery for the people of Odo-Otin Local Government.
