Osun 2026: Governor Ademola Adeleke Emerges Accord Party Governorship Candidate


Osun State Accord Party has officially affirmed the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, as its flagbearer for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election. This follows his decisive victory at the party’s primary election held on Wednesday at the OASIS Event Centre, Osogbo.

The primary election, which drew delegates from all 30 Local Government Areas and the Area Office of the state, recorded a total of 150 accredited delegates. Out of these, 145 votes were declared valid, while 5 votes were rendered invalid.

Governor Adeleke secured a commanding lead, polling 145 votes from across the state—an outcome that reaffirms his widespread acceptance and solid political base within the Accord Party structure.

In his acceptance remarks, Governor Adeleke expressed profound gratitude to the delegates, party leadership, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to continue delivering good governance, people-centered policies, and inclusive development for the people of Osun State.

The Accord Party leadership described the primary election as transparent, peaceful, and compliant with all electoral guidelines, noting that the outcome further strengthens the party’s readiness for the 2026 governorship contest.

With this victory, Senator Ademola Adeleke officially becomes the Accord Party’s candidate for the Osun 2026 Governorship Election, setting the stage for a competitive and highly anticipated political race.
