The House of Representatives aspirant for Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Engr. Akogun Raji Abioye, has extended his warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Christians across the constituency and Osun State at large on the commencement of the 40-day Lenten fasting season.
In his goodwill message, Engr. Abioye described Lent as a sacred and spiritually significant period in the Christian calendar, marked by prayer, fasting, reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to faith and service to humanity. He noted that the season offers a profound opportunity for individuals and communities to draw closer to God while embracing the values of humility, forgiveness, compassion, and self-discipline.
The aspirant emphasized that beyond its spiritual significance, the Lenten season serves as a timely reminder of the need for collective prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Osun State and Nigeria as a whole. He urged Christians to use the solemn period to intercede for the continued tranquility, stability, and prosperity of the state and the nation.
“Lent is a season that calls for deep reflection and renewed dedication to the ideals of love, sacrifice, and service. I encourage all Christian faithful to pray fervently for enduring peace, harmony, and progress in our constituency, Osun State, and Nigeria. Through sincere prayers and righteous living, we can overcome our challenges and build a society anchored on justice, unity, and shared prosperity,” he stated.
Engr. Abioye further called on residents of Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and coexist peacefully, irrespective of religious or political affiliations. He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, people-centered representation, and developmental initiatives that will uplift all communities within the federal constituency.
