The Executive Director, Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. AbdulRahman Olalekan Badmus (Omoolore), has extended warm greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful as the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season commence simultaneously this year.
Olalekan Badmus, who is also the Asiwaju Musulumi of Osogbo, described the coincidence of the two sacred periods as a unique moment of spiritual reflection, self-purification, and renewed commitment to faith and humanity.
In a statement personally signed by him, Omoolore urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to use the solemn period to pray fervently for Osun State and the nation at large. He emphasized that Ramadan and Lent are seasons that call for sacrifice, compassion, and deeper devotion to God, adding that adherents of both religions should seize the opportunity to promote peace, unity, and national development.
The former Commissioner for Special Duties in Osun State also charged residents of the state not to relent in their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO). He described the year 2026 as a transition period for Osun State and urged eligible voters to turn out en masse on August 8 to vote for what he termed "real development and progress" by supporting the APC at the polls.
Omoolore further commended Nigerians for their continued support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration's policies and restructuring efforts are geared toward repositioning the country for sustainable growth. He encouraged citizens to remain steadfast and mobilise support for the President's second-term re-election bid.
Concluding his message, Hon. Lekan prayed for divine blessings, peace, and prosperity for Osun State and Nigeria during the sacred season, expressing hope that the spiritual exercises of Ramadan and Lent would usher in renewed strength and collective progress for the nation.
