The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oriade Local Government today held its party general meeting at the Iloko-Ijesa Town Hall, Ward 11, where a leading House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Banjo Fasogbon, openly declared his total support for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 8 gubernatorial election in Osun State.
Speaking at the well-attended meeting, Hon. Fasogbon assured party members and stakeholders of his unwavering commitment to ensuring the victory of the APC at the polls, pledging to deploy his personal resources, political influence, and grassroots network to mobilize massive support for Asiwaju Oyebamiji across Oriade Local Government.
The Oriade-born politician, who also met with APC elders and leaders in the local government, emphasized that the success of the party in the governorship election remains a collective priority, stressing that the interest of Osun State is superior to any personal ambition. According to him, all party faithful must rally behind the APC candidate to reclaim the state from what he described as ineffective leadership.
In a press statement made available to journalists, Hon. Fasogbon criticized the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing it of failing the people of Osun State, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education, and infrastructural development. He revealed that his personal intervention has led to the engagement of teachers in some public schools within Oriade Local Government to cushion the effects of poor governance.
Hon. Fasogbon further urged eligible voters across the state to collect and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), calling on them to actively participate in the forthcoming election in order to democratically remove Governor Ademola Adeleke from the Government House in Abere.
The APC chieftain also commended the Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, for warmly receiving the APC delegation during a courtesy visit to his palace prior to the local government meeting, describing the monarch as a symbol of unity and progress.
Concluding his remarks, Hon. Banjo Fasogbon appealed to APC loyalists in Oriade Local Government to maintain peace, unity, and discipline within the party, assuring them that collective sacrifice today would translate into abundance and dividends of democracy when Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji emerges as the next Governor of Osun State.
