Ramadan and Lent: Dr. Bode Olaonipekun Felicitates Muslims, Christians, Urges Prayers for Nigeria

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, has extended his warm greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful in Boluwaduro Local Government Area, Osun State, and Nigeria at large on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan and the 40-day Lenten season.

In a goodwill message released to mark the sacred periods, Dr. Olaonipekun described the simultaneous observance of Ramadan and Lent as a profound moment of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to faith. He noted that both seasons are divinely ordained opportunities for adherents to deepen their relationship with God, seek forgiveness, and demonstrate compassion towards humanity.

According to him, Ramadan and Lent go beyond abstinence from food and worldly pleasures; they symbolize total submission to the will of God, sincere repentance, and rededication to righteous living. He urged Muslims and Christians to use the sacred periods to fervently pray for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.

Dr. Olaonipekun emphasized the urgent need for peaceful coexistence among citizens, irrespective of religious or political affiliations. He called on religious leaders and faithful to preach and practice love, tolerance, and mutual respect, stressing that national progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of harmony and collective responsibility.

He further encouraged the people of Osun State to reflect deeply on the future of the state as they engage in prayers during this solemn period. He appealed to residents to support the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate in the forthcoming August 8, 2026 election, Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji, describing him as a visionary leader prepared to usher in a new era of purposeful and people-oriented governance.

Dr. Olaonipekun expressed confidence that the year 2026 represents a transition to good governance in Osun State, adding that the APC candidate possesses the competence, integrity, and administrative experience required to move the state forward.

He concluded by wishing all Muslim and Christian faithful a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and Lenten season, praying that their sacrifices, supplications, and acts of devotion will attract divine blessings, peace, and prosperity for Osun State and Nigeria at large.
