A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Osun State, Prince Adeyeye Adeyemi Akinson, has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful in Osun State, across Nigeria, and in the diaspora as the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season begin simultaneously this year.
In a statement personally signed and made available to the newsmen, Prince Akinson described the rare convergence of Ramadan and Lent as a profound spiritual moment—one that underscores the shared values of faith, sacrifice, love, and service to humanity embedded in both Islam and Christianity.
According to him, the simultaneous observance of these sacred periods presents a unique opportunity for sober reflection, moral rejuvenation, and a renewed commitment to godliness and nation-building.
“Ramadan and Lent are not merely religious rituals; they are deeply spiritual journeys that call for self-discipline, compassion for the less privileged, and unwavering devotion to God. The coincidence of these holy seasons reminds us of our common humanity and the need to strengthen the bonds of unity, peace, and mutual respect in our society,” he stated.
Prince Akinson urged adherents of both faiths to use the solemn period to offer fervent prayers for Osun State and Nigeria at large.
