A leading aspirant for the House of Representatives in Osogbo Federal Constituency, Prince Dr. Abdulrasheed Muideen Romeo, has congratulated Senator Ajibola Surajudeen Basiru on his re-election as the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a clear affirmation of a successful first term and a resounding endorsement of his political acumen.
Senator Basiru was returned as the National Secretary of the ruling party during its National Convention held on Friday, March 27, 2026, alongside other members of the National Working Committee (NWC), in what observers have described as a demonstration of confidence in the party’s leadership.
In a congratulatory statement issued on Saturday, Prince Romeo, a Prince of Osogbo and prominent chieftain of the APC, lauded Basiru for his unwavering commitment to the growth, stability, and cohesion of the party, noting that his administrative competence and strategic leadership played a vital role in strengthening the APC’s internal structures during his first term.
According to him, Basiru’s re-election did not come as a surprise, given his track record of diligence, loyalty, and capacity to navigate the complexities of party politics at the national level.
“Distinguished Senator Ajibola Basiru’s re-election is not only well-deserved but also a testament to his impactful stewardship as National Secretary in his first term. It is a clear endorsement of his political sagacity, leadership dexterity, and his ability to foster unity within the party,” Prince Romeo stated.
