The atmosphere in Ward 3, Osogbo Local Government was filled with excitement and renewed hope as the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially welcomed prominent political figures from PdAccord into its fold.
Leading the decampees were the former PdAccord Ward 3 Chairman and former Councillor, Hon. Adewale Kaseem, alongside Azeez Moruf, who made the bold decision to defect from PdAccord to the APC. Their move was anchored on their conviction that PdAccord is gradually drifting toward failure, while the APC remains a progressive party built on hope, excellence and sustainable development.
In a warm and inspiring welcome address, Alhaji Baruwa Oduola and Hon. Bolanle Jimoh Gbogbolomo received the decampees with open arms. They expressed confidence that the new members are fully resolved to join the progressive family and distance themselves from what they described as bureaucratic stagnation. They assured them of unity, cooperation and equal opportunity within the party.
Adding their voices, Hon. Akintunde Adeboye and Hon. Adelakun emphasized that the APC is a party rooted in oneness, guided by progressive minded individuals endowed with wisdom and intellect. They described the defection as a significant stride toward the anticipated success of August 15, commending the decampees for their courage in leaving what they termed a disarrayed platform to embrace a forward thinking movement.
The event was further dignified by the presence of respected leaders within the progressive family, including Baba Lamolu, Chairman of the Alubarika Movement; Hon. Taofeek Abolubode, Comr. Waheed Adedokun, Comr. Adelaolu Femi, Hon. Kazeem Adebayo, Alhaji Ibrahim Akanni; Alhaji Go Salam, Comr. Amittolu Shittu; Hon. Taofeek Royal, Hon. Layan Ademola; Hon. Kazeem Yusuf and Hon. Latona Teslim, all of whom joined in receiving the decampees.
Speaking at the gathering, Comr. Waheed Adedokun stressed the importance of progressive ideology and encouraged the new members to remain steadfast and consistent in their new political journey.
The APC National Secretary, Senator Dr.Ajibola Basiru(SRJ), Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Blue Economy and Hon Saheed M Onibonokuta the Executive Chairman of Osogbo Local Government were also highly recognized for their continued leadership and contributions to the party’s growth.
In his remarks, Comr. Amittolu Shittu advised the decampees to walk firmly in the path of progressivism, assuring them that success naturally accompanies dedication and unity. He concluded the event with a heartfelt closing prayer.
The defection marks another significant milestone for APC Ward 3 in Osogbo, reinforcing its growing strength and solidifying its position as a beacon of progress and excellence within the local government and beyond.
