A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun Local Government, Hon. Adeyeye Adeyemi Akinson, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Obokun Local Government, Osun State, and Nigeria at large on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the 30-day Ramadan fast.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo, Hon. Adeyeye described Ramadan as a sacred period devoted to spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and total abstinence from ungodly acts. He commended Muslims for their devotion, sacrifice, and commitment to the teachings of Islam throughout the holy month.
According to him, the essence of Ramadan goes beyond fasting, as it instills virtues such as patience, humility, compassion, and obedience to the will of Allah. He urged the Muslim faithful to sustain these virtues and continue to uphold the values of righteousness, peace, and love in their daily lives even after the Ramadan period.
Hon. Adeyeye further encouraged Muslims in Obokun Local Government and across Osun State to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with moderation, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to moral uprightness. He emphasized the importance of unity, peaceful coexistence, and collective responsibility in fostering development within the community and the state.
He also used the opportunity to call on residents to support and vote for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. He expressed confidence that the APC candidate possesses the vision, capacity, and leadership qualities required to deliver good governance and improve the welfare of the people.
“By supporting Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, the people of Osun State can look forward to inclusive governance, sustainable development, and policies that will positively impact all sectors of the state,” he stated.
Hon. Adeyeye concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying that Allah accepts their acts of worship, grants them abundant blessings, and strengthens unity and progress across Osun State and Nigeria.
