Late MC. Titilayo Dode was a widow who had to cope with discrimination, rejection, labeling and assault from her late husband's family. The major attack and threat to lives of the widow and her Children have been carried out by her own family and Uncle.
She was called a witch among other names, she was afflicted like the way widows were humiliated and treated unfairly by ignorant and illiterate by her own Uncle. Yet, she tried to move on without paying attentions to these threats.
Her late husband's house was close to the brother's inlaw compound on the same street at Isashi. The daughter of the deceased reported, that her maternal uncle had threatened to sell the house and requested MC Titilayo Dode to move out of the compound.
The news that broke the cyberspace today was the urgly incident of how the widow was att@cked and k!Iled in her home at lyana-Isashi while her neighbor who was said to have witnessed the incident was brut@lised to within an inch of his life. The young man is battling his life at the hospital at this point.
The woman's daughter, a hairstylist, mentioned that she was at work in Lekki, when she received a call from a neighbour who informed her that her mother was !njured in an att@ck. She immediately left to make the long journey home to lyana-Isashi, Lagos, and called her sister to also head home.
Her sister got home before her and informed her that their mother had passed on. The hairstylist said that, on hearing the news, she decided to go straight to the police station near their house.
There, she said she met a crowd from her community who came to report the attack on her mother. She was also shown her mother's body.
When she got home, the hairstylist found signs of struggle, showing that her mother had been coming out of the bathroom when she was att@cked. She was hit with a stick and her head was h@cked open with a cutlass, with blood oozing out. Her blood stained the sand outside the compound. The cutlass used in the attack was also seen at the scene.
A male neighbour in the next compound was also att@cked supposedly because he saw what happened. He was unconscious but still breathing when he was found, presently at the hospital.
Footprints and signs of forced entry from the barrier that separates his house from the home of the deceased show that the att@cker went from the victim's house to chase him in his own compound, leading to suspicion that the attacker saw him watching and wanted to k!Il him to destroy any evidence.
Though the culprit has not been identified, the hairstylist said she suspects her paternal uncle who has been threatening to k!I! her mother if she doesn't leave the house. She added that her Mother's uncle's son is an ex-convict who was recently released from prison and she suspects he and his father had a hand in att@cking her mother.
She called for justice for her mother and urged the authorities to investigate so as to get to the bottom of her mother's m^●rder.
As at this point, one of the suspects, AVSE Davie Avoseh the Shepherd In-Charge of CCC Jordan Isashi Parish 1 who is the Uncle of the late Titilayo Dode have been arrested and detained at the Isashi Police and case transferred to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti Lagos.
We appeal to the residents at the area to provide any relevant information that can aid the on-going investigation with regards the urgly incidents to the Nigeria Police at Panti.
May the soul of the departed rest in peace, may God grant the neighbour a second chance to live again. May the family of Mother Celestial Titilayo Dode Avoseh receive justice for their mother and receive the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss. Amen.
