As campaigns begin ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, a chieftain of the Accord Party and Executive Board Member of the Osun State Internal Revenue Service, Prince Bola Oyebowale, has called on residents of the state to disregard what he described as lies and propaganda from opposition parties.
Oyebowale made the appeal while reacting to the start of political campaigns across the state, urging voters not to be swayed by criticisms from the All Progressives Congress and other opposition parties.
According to him, the opposition lacks credible issues to campaign on against the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, and has instead resorted to misinformation.
He alleged that the previous administration left the state’s governance structure weakened before Adeleke assumed office in 2022, adding that the current government has since repositioned Osun for better governance and development.
Oyebowale commended Adeleke’s leadership, stating that the governor has worked to transform the state and improve governance since taking office.
He therefore urged the people of Osun State to support and vote for Adeleke and the Accord Party in the forthcoming election, saying it would enable the continuation of what he described as good governance in the state.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026, with political parties already mobilising support across the state as the campaign season gathers momentum.
