Victoria Ajibola: I attempted suicide after discovering my husband got me, my friend pregnant

Victoria Ajibola, the Nollywood actress popularly known as Omo Local, has revealed the circumstances that led to the collapse of her first marriage.

Speaking in a recent episode of Oyinmomo TV, the actress recalled how she discovered that her husband impregnated her close friend while she was five months pregnant.

Ajibola said the betrayal was difficult to bear, particularly because the woman involved was someone she shared a close bond with.

“When I was married, I was five months pregnant while my friend was also three months pregnant for my husband. I thought it would have been easier for me to endure if he impregnated a stranger. Me and this friend did so many things together and I thought we loved each other,” she said.

“Now imagine hearing that I was five months pregnant while she was three months pregnant for my husband. I said I could not stand a polygamous home because it is not written in the Bible. My husband also did not want to take responsibility for her pregnancy.”

The actress disclosed that the situation escalated, especially because her father-in-law was a pastor and her mother-in-law a prophetess who owned a church.

According to her, the family of the pregnant woman allegedly resorted to threats, using thugs to intimidate church members while insisting that her husband marry their daughter.

Ajibola revealed that the emotional turmoil pushed her into attempting to take her own life.

“The issue eventually degenerated into a crisis because my father-in-law was a pastor while my mother-in-law was a prophetess and she owned a church. The lady’s family then started using thugs to threaten the church members,” she added.

“They could not help the situation by insisting the lady marries my husband because I said I could not run a polygamous home. The issue got so tense that I even took poison so I could end the whole drama, I had lost hope.

“It was a little child who went to tell my father-in-law and that is how they immediately started administering an anti-poison to keep me alive. I wished I had never heard about it or that the person he impregnated was not someone I knew.”
